Pan Swiss Sausage & the Pesto Roll

Pan Swiss Sausage and Pesto Roll — the two savoury pans from our counter, both built on fresh bread.

Alongside the sweet pastries, the Pan Pan counter also holds another category of products — savoury pans that offer a different, saltier flavor for anyone after something beyond a classic sandwich. The two main ones are the Pan Swiss Sausage and the Pesto Roll, each with its own character, but both built on the same foundation of quality bread.

The Pan Swiss Sausage starts from the same soft pan dough, shaped and baked with sausage worked directly into the structure of the bread. The result is a product where the bread and the filling bake together rather than being assembled afterward — the sausage flavor runs through the whole dough rather than sitting in a single layer. The dough around it stays soft, with a light golden crust on the outside.

The Pesto Roll takes a slightly different direction. Here the dough is enriched with pesto — with a strong flavor of herbs and olive oil — and finished with a cream cheese that adds softness and a mild, milky contrast to the pesto aroma. The combination is gentler than the Pan Swiss Sausage, but still distinctly savoury and aromatic, good for anyone who wants an herby rather than a meaty character.

Both pans are made with the same craft attention we put into every loaf that comes out of our oven — controlled dough fermentation, careful placement of the filling, and precise baking time so the texture stays soft inside and the crust stays light outside.

These products work well for a quick lunch or a snack, and can also be paired with coffee for anyone who wants a savoury rather than sweet choice alongside their cup. Espresso or our Specialty Filter Coffee balance nicely with the more intense flavor of the Pan Swiss Sausage, while the Pesto Roll pairs well alongside a lighter, fresher drink too.

The Pan Swiss Sausage and Pesto Roll are available at both of our shops — Aerodrom and Kapistec Petit.

If you want to try the savoury side of our counter, these two pans are a good place to start — the same craftsmanship in the dough, just with a whole different, saltier character.
